How to Prepare for Your Tattoo Appointment

Your session at Jack's Shack Tattoo Emporium is designed to be calm, focused, and fully personalised. Preparing properly helps you feel comfortable, ensures the best possible results, and makes the entire experience smoother from start to finish.

Here’s everything you need to know before you arrive.

---

 1. Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water the day before and the morning of your appointment.

Hydrated skin is easier to tattoo, heals better, and feels less irritated.

Avoid:

- Energy drinks

- Excess caffeine

- Alcohol (24 hours before your session)

---

 2. Eat a Good Meal

Please don’t arrive on an empty stomach.

A solid meal stabilises your blood sugar and keeps you feeling steady throughout the session.

Snacks are welcome — especially for longer bookings.

---

 3. Wear Comfortable Clothing

Choose clothing that:

- Gives easy access to the area being tattooed

- You don’t mind getting ink on

- Keeps you warm and comfortable during longer sessions

For larger pieces, bring layers — the studio is kept cool for hygiene and comfort.

---

 4. Moisturise in the Days Before

Healthy, moisturised skin takes ink beautifully.

Do:

- Moisturise the area daily for 2–3 days before your appointment

Don’t:

- Apply moisturiser on the morning of your session

- Fake tan the area

- Use exfoliants or harsh scrubs

---

 5. Avoid Sunburn, Tanning & Damage

Please avoid:

- Sunbeds

- Sunburn

- Cuts, scratches, or irritation on the area

Damaged skin cannot be tattooed.

---

 6. Rest Well

A good night’s sleep makes a huge difference.

Tattooing is a physical process — being rested helps your body stay calm and reduces discomfort.

---

 7. Bring Entertainment (Optional)

You’re welcome to bring:

- Headphones

- Music

- Podcasts

- Audiobooks

This can help you relax during longer sessions.

---

 8. Arrive Clean & Fresh

Please shower before your appointment.

Avoid heavy perfumes or body sprays — the studio is a calm, scent‑neutral space.

---

 9. Bring Your Deposit Balance

Your deposit secures your booking and is deducted from the final price.

The remaining balance is due on the day.

Payment methods accepted:

- Cash

- Bank transfer

- (Add any others you accept)

---

 10. Bring ID

If you look under 25, please bring valid photo ID.

You must be 18+ to get tattooed — no exceptions.

---

 11. Aftercare Kit Available

A premium aftercare kit is available to purchase in the studio for £15.

It includes everything you need for a smooth, clean heal.

---

 12. Come With an Open Mind

Your session is a collaboration.

Bring your ideas, references, and inspiration — and trust the process.

We’ll refine your design together before we begin.

---

If You Need to Reschedule

Life happens.

If you need to move your appointment, please give at least 48 hours’ notice so your slot can be offered to someone else.

Deposits are non‑refundable but can be transferred to a new date with enough notice.
